Assam Flood Season Assessment 2 August 2026: 25 Districts, 2,255 Villages and Nearly 13,600 Damaged Houses Since 29 April

A broader season-to-date state assessment said the 2026 flood season had so far touched 25 districts, 77 revenue circles and 2,255 villages, with 82 deaths, nearly 29,985 evacuations, 222 relief camps, 72,532 sheltered people and close to 13,600 damaged houses. This is a cumulative season assessment and should be read separately from the current 1.78-lakh active-impact snapshot.\n\nThe distinction matters because a current snapshot tells people what is still actively affected now, while the cumulative report shows the full scale of what the season has already done since late April. Keeping those two views separate makes the flood page more accurate and easier to understand.
