Our Story

Sometimes, the biggest ideas come from the smallest everyday problems.

Xokhi was not created in a boardroom or as a business idea. It was born from real experiences that many of us face but rarely talk about.

A few months ago, I needed a particular medicine. I travelled from one pharmacy to another across the city, calling stores and waiting for replies, only to discover that the medicine was available at a shop I had never thought to check.

It made me realise how much time, effort and stress could have been avoided if people simply knew where essential items were available.

Then I started noticing the same problem everywhere. Someone spends days searching for a PG, room or rental home because there is no trusted place where local availability stays organised and updated. A family purchases an everyday product without knowing that another shop nearby offers it at a better price. People fall victim to scams because important warnings are scattered across social media and often disappear before reaching the people who need them. Lost belongings are posted across unrelated groups and pages, where only a small number of people see them. Many people need assistance while someone nearby may be willing to help, but they never connect because there is no common local platform bringing them together.

Each of these problems may seem small on its own, but together they affect thousands of people every day.

That is why Xokhi was created.

Not to become another social network. Not to replace marketplaces.

Xokhi exists to become a trusted community platform where useful local information is organised, moderated and shared for everyone’s benefit.

We believe one small contribution can save someone hours of searching, help a family make a better decision, reconnect a lost item with its owner, warn someone before they become the victim of a scam or connect a person with the help they need.

Every verified update has the potential to help someone else.

Our vision is simple: to build communities where knowledge is shared instead of scattered, where helping others becomes easier and where every contribution makes everyday life a little better.

Today, Xokhi begins in Assam. Tomorrow, we hope communities everywhere can benefit from the same idea.
